NOTICE OF RACE

1. Organizing Authority & Host: United States Sailing Center of Martin County

2. Rules- The races will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2001-2004, the Rules of the Vanguard 15 Class, except as any are modified by the Sailing Instructions, and the Sailing Instructions.

3. Class- Boats will be Vanguard 15's

4. The Regatta is classified as a Category A event.

5. Registration- Registration will be on January 3, 2002 from 1800-2000 hrs. The registration deadline is January 3, 2002 at 2000 hrs. Send complete entry fees to:

Sat January 4, 2002 0930 Warning Signal. Subsequent races to follow
Sun January 5, 2002 0930 Warning Signal. Subsequent races to follow
Sun January 5, 2002 No warning signal will be displayed after 1530
Sun January 5. 2002 Awards ASAP After Racing

9. Sailing Instructions- US Sailing Standard Sailing Instructions will be used and will be available during registration.

10. Courses- Will be specified in the Sailing Instructions.

11. Scoring- The low point scoring system of Appendix A will apply. Nine races are scheduled. If at least six races are completed, each boat's worst score will be excluded from her series score. A minimum of one race shall be completed to constitute a series.

12. Protests- Protests not settled on the water will be settled via 3-minute Justice as outlined in the Competitor's Meeting.

13. Prizes- The top five places overall, the top Master, the top Junior, and the top Woman will receive prizes

14. Safety- All competitors shall wear U.S. Coast Guard approved lifejackets at all times while on the water. Failure to do so is protestable and shall result in disqualification
